The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI), part of UCI Health and the Susan & Henry College of Health Sciences, works to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-based treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care, and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.

Your Role on the Team The Clinical Trial Manager will serve as the senior scientific leader responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing high-quality clinical research programs across the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI), while strategically guiding industry sponsors, faculty, and research teams, through successful partnerships with the University of California, Irvine (UCI). This individual will bring deep expertise in clinical trial methodology, protocol development, regulatory strategy, and academic–industry collaboration, with working knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in clinical research.

The role will lead protocol conception and authorship, support sponsor engagement and feasibility, ensure scientific rigor and operational feasibility, and oversee research program outcomes to drive measurable impact, publication quality, funding growth, and translational value. The Principal Clinical Trial Manager will collaborate closely with investigators, federal regulatory agencies, data science partners, IT and compliance teams, and external sponsors to ensure responsible integration and advanced analytics into SSIHI's clinical research programs, including predictive modeling, digital biomarkers, real-world data, and decision-support applications.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

In-depth knowledge of research function. Advanced skills associated with statistical analysis, database management and systems programming. Advanced skills in analysis and consultation. Advanced ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing. Advanced project management skills. Ability to lead and influence within and external to project team. Advanced research skills at a level to evaluate alternate solutions and develop recommendations.

Advanced ability to think creatively to recommend action steps or strategize solutions relative to research. PhD (or equivalent doctoral degree) in clinical research, epidemiology, biostatistics, biomedical informatics, data science, health sciences, or related field. Preferred:
Knowledge or experience in integrative and/or functional medicine research
