Chemist Position
Seeking an experienced Chemist to support formulation development projects within a fast paced product development environment. The role will focus on developing and manufacturing topical cosmetic and OTC skincare formulations. The position will collaborate closely with staff scientists and cross functional product development teams. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations, stability studies, analytical testing, and pilot and scale up activities.
Strong documentation, organization, communication, and laboratory skills are essential for success.
Pay Range: $40 to $47 an hour.
Client Industry: Pharmaceutical
Duration: 24 months contract with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute formulation development projects for topical cosmetic and OTC skincare products in collaboration with product development scientists.
- Manufacture and evaluate topical cosmetic and OTC formulations using established laboratory procedures and equipment.
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, databases, and formulation development documentation.
- Manage raw material inventories and coordinate with vendors to support formulation development activities.
- Conduct stability studies and perform analytical testing to evaluate formulation performance and product quality.
- Support pilot and scale up activities associated with formulation development and process optimization.
- Maintain laboratory organization and ensure appropriate handling of materials, samples, and documentation.
- Manage multiple formulation development projects while meeting project timelines and priorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in topical cosmetic or OTC formulation development for Chemist III level.
- Working knowledge of topical cosmetic and OTC laboratory methods.
- Familiarity with GLP and GMP requirements.
- Hands on experience operating laboratory equipment used for topical cosmetic or OTC formulation development.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting pilot and scale up activities.
- Experience working with formulation development teams in a regulated product development environment.
- Experience managing raw material inventories and vendor relationships.
