Laboratory Technician – Coatings & Materials Testing
Position Type: 1 year contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need

Compensation: $28-$32/HR
Responsibilities:
- Generate routine test data in accordance with established standard test methods.
- Support Application Engineers with laboratory testing and data generation.
- Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, perform laboratory testing with a high level of initiative and independence.
- Test coatings and evaluate, collect, and accurately record test data.
- Organize and perform experiments using established procedures, documenting and summarizing results in laboratory notebooks.
- Enter and organize data using computer software, including preparation of charts and tables to communicate project results.
- Prepare cleaners, pretreatments, paints, and coatings using various chemical ingredients.
- Test the performance characteristics of coated substrates using established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and follow 5S practices.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of hands-on laboratory experience preferred.
- Comfortable operating laboratory equipment and performing hands-on laboratory testing.
- Experience working with coatings, paints, or related laboratory testing is a plus.
- Basic data analysis and data summarization skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols while maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
- Ability to follow laboratory safety practices and established protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Good team player with the ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to stand and work in a laboratory environment for most of the workday.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
