Salary Range: $71,000-$74,000 per year (based on experience)
Job SummaryThe Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, leading team members, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences. This role is hands‑on and leadership‑focused, responsible for maintaining service standards, compliance, team development, and operational excellence in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Management & Operations- Ensure all guests feel welcome and receive responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times
- Ensure all food and beverages are consistently prepared and served according to company recipes, portioning, cooking, and presentation standards
- Step in and fill operational gaps as needed to maintain service standards and efficiency
- Inspect and ensure all equipment is clean and in excellent working condition by following preventative maintenance programs
- Verify all deliveries are received in correct unit count and proper condition in accordance with receiving policies
- Achieve company objectives related to sales, service, quality, sanitation, cleanliness, and facility appearance
- Create and maintain a positive, productive, and respectful work environment through training and leadership
- Control cash and other receipts by following proper cash-handling and reconciliation procedures
- Enforce company policies and administer prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action when necessary
- Maintain full compliance with all federal, state, county, and local regulations related to health, safety, and labor laws
- Understand and uphold all company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and training programs
- Hire, train, schedule, and manage employees in their daily duties
- Make employment and termination decisions in alignment with General Manager and Assistant General Manager approval guidelines
- Continually develop team members in both operational and professional growth
- Provide feedback, recommendations, and support to the General Manager as needed
- Ensure employee performance evaluations are completed accurately and on time
- Handle Workers’ Compensation matters, including filing incident reports and conducting investigations when required
- Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork, including reports, schedules, and forms in a timely and organized manner
- Create and manage labor schedules based on anticipated business needs while meeting labor cost objectives
- Monitor, coach, and address attendance, tardiness, and time‑off requests
- Serv Safe Alcohol Certification (if applicable)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a high-volume restaurant management and operations role.
- Food and beverage industry experience required
- Strong knowledge of front‑of‑house operations and guest service standards
- Basic understanding of employment laws related to hiring, termination, and incident reporting
- Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Strong math skills and ability to operate a POS and cash‑handling systems
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively and understand the predominant language(s) of the restaurant’s trading area
- High attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to carry and serve hot dishes up to 210°F
