About the Role

Roark is seeking a Key Holder to support our adventure lifestyle brand by providing exceptional customer service, maximizing revenue, and managing opening and closing duties at our Irvine retail store. This part‑time position requires up to 29 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in driving sales and business results through a premium guest experience, employee relations, and operations aligned with Roark Culture and Retail Operating Principles.
  • Execute standard store product flow, restocking, back‑of‑house operations, supply needs, and daily store maintenance as directed.
  • Uphold visual merchandising directives and maintain visual standards and brand image daily.
  • Oversee cashwrap and POS procedures: reconcile tills, process returns, exchanges, gift cards, and discounts accurately.
  • Open and close the store following standard operating procedures.
  • Engage customers, build rapport, and provide hospitality and customer service at the highest level.
  • Independently problem‑solve and resolve customer issues while maintaining calm and collaborating with leadership.
  • Ensure the floor is always clean, presentable, and consistent with store concepts and visual standards.
  • Assist with back‑of‑house duties, including receiving and placing product.
  • Demonstrate a positive, outgoing, high‑energy, entrepreneurial, sales‑focused attitude.
  • Maintain strong interpersonal and written communication skills, independent work ethic, time management, and organization.
  • Lift, carry, or move objects up to 15 pounds and use ladders or stairs as needed.
  • Exhibit deep product knowledge, support client inquiries, stay aware of competition, and creatively communicate selections that meet customer needs.
  • Manage inventory to keep the store well‑stocked at all times.
  • Support and promote the Point‑of‑Sale process and related policies.
Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of sales and merchandising experience with opening and closing responsibilities (preferably retail goods).
  • Preferably knowledgeable about action sports, climbing, camping, and a passion for the outdoors.
  • Proficiency operating POS sales systems (Shopify).
  • BA or BS preferred.
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Self‑motivated leader with strong entrepreneurial skills.
  • Elevated communication skills adaptable to different audiences.
  • Innate guest‑centric mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication, independent work ethic, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Creative, adaptable team player with a positive attitude.
  • Problem‑solving ability, calm under stress, and ability to collaborate with leadership.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and use ladders or stairs.
