Associate Account Executive – Med Tech Sales (Clinical Sales – Specialty Physicians, Commission). Territory covers Chicago, IL;
Boston, MA;
Cleveland, OH;
Detroit, MI;
Kansas City & St. Louis, MO;
Minneapolis, MN;
Nashville, TN. The position is a sales development role focused on cataract device sales with the goal of progressing to a Commercial Sales role.
- Work under the mentorship of the District Manager and Senior or Principal Account Executive to learn the cataract product portfolio.
- Call and engage Ophthalmologists and associated staff within the assigned region to grow market share and maintain the existing base of business.
- Provide technical product knowledge, in‑service support, and customer satisfaction for IOLs, Phaco equipment, viscoelastic, and surgical adjuncts.
- Prepare and deliver detailed sales, procedural, and financial presentations to new and existing customers.
- Demonstrate a consultative and value‑based sales approach consistent with current year marketing plans.
- Leverage Johnson & Johnson resources, sales personnel, and strategic partners to enhance field productivity.
- Utilize the Customer Resource Management System and related hardware/software to support productivity and reporting.
- Manage travel and expenses within budgetary guidelines, including field assets such as consigned products, surgical instruments, and equipment.
- Submit all required reports and requests to management and marketing in a timely manner.
- Assist with coverage of vacant territories within the region or neighboring regions as business needs dictate.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- One to three years of sales experience or three to five years of med‑tech professional experience.
- Valid driver’s license in one of the 50 United States.
- Ability to relocate within the region after STEP graduation and as required by business needs.
- Travel up to 75% of the time, including overnight and weekend travel.
- Experience in surgical O.R. or ophthalmic industry is a plus.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a sales team and support company goals and sales objectives.
- Comply with all grade requirements for all steps of the program.
Anticipated base pay range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually.
