Regional Sales Manager - Southern California
Chroma is seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Regional Sales Manager to support and expand the sales of our Thermal Test Systems, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), and Handler Solutions throughout Southern California.
This position is responsible for driving new business development, expanding existing customer relationships, and promoting Chroma's complete portfolio of thermal and automated test solutions to semiconductor manufacturers, integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), fabless companies, foundries, and technology development organizations.
The ideal candidate will possess 4–6 years of successful B2B and face-to-face sales experience, exceptional communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to engage both technical and executive-level customer stakeholders. Existing relationships within the Southern California semiconductor ecosystem are highly desirable.
Must have a firm understanding of large account management, and the varying levels of account vertical and horizontal relationships, as well as interdepartmental cross-selling and networking.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute territory sales strategies to achieve and exceed annual revenue objectives.
- Promote and sell the complete portfolio of Chroma Thermal Test, Automated Test Equipment (ATE), and Handler solutions.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within assigned accounts and target customers.
- Build a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, networking, referrals, and strategic account engagement.
- Manage opportunities throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial contact through purchase order receipt and installation.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, funnel reports, and territory growth plans.
Customer Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with engineering and management teams.
- Conduct regular customer visits throughout Southern California.
- Lead customer presentations, product demonstrations, technical reviews, and proposal discussions.
- Support contract negotiations, quotations, pricing discussions, and commercial activities.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout pre-sale, evaluation, installation, and post-sale phases.
Technical Sales Collaboration
Work closely with customer organizations including:
- Technical Program Managers (TPMs)
- Electrical Engineers (EEs)
- Mechanical Engineers (MEs)
- Validation Engineers
- Silicon Characterization Engineers
- Manufacturing and Operations Groups
- Reliability and Quality Engineering Teams
Coordinate internally with:
- Applications Engineering
- Product Management
- Service and Support Teams
- Marketing
- Operations
Assist customers in identifying optimal test and thermal solutions based on their technical and production requirements.
Account & Territory Management
- Maintain detailed and accurate customer records within ERP CRM systems.
- Develop account growth strategies for key semiconductor customers throughout Southern California.
- Identify competitive threats, market trends, and emerging technology opportunities.
- Provide timely activity reports, opportunity updates, and sales forecasts.
- Support customer evaluations, site acceptance activities, and business reviews.
Industry Representation
- Represent Chroma professionally at customer sites, trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Promote Chroma technologies and value propositions to both technical and business audiences.
- Maintain current knowledge of semiconductor industry trends, thermal test solutions, automated test applications, and handler technologies.
Experience
- 4–6 years of successful B2B sales experience.
- Proven face-to-face (F2F) sales experience with measurable sales achievements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex customer engagements.
- Experience selling into engineering-driven organizations.
- Experience working with technical and business decision-makers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
