We are seeking an exceptional and self‑motivated Principal Algorithms Engineer to join our growing R&D team at Becton, Dickinson and Company located in Irvine, California. The ideal candidate will have strong statistical data analysis skills and be able to achieve results with minimal direction.

• Lead the development of advanced algorithms for patient monitoring using machine learning and signal processing techniques
• Perform statistical data analyses to characterize performance of algorithms
• Collaborate with clinicians to conduct clinical trials and publish scientific articles
• Collaborate with cross‑functional team on regulatory submissions and launching products

• PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, statistics, or relevant field is required
• Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB
• Strong experience with deep reinforcement learning
• Strong experience with general machine learning and deep learning techniques (CNN, LSTM, Transformer, etc.)
• Strong experience in digital signal processing, mathematical modeling and algorithm development

• Experience working with biomedical time series data (arterial blood pressure, ECG, EEG, etc.)
• Experience with control theory
• Knowledge of patient monitoring and human physiology
