Job Overview
APTIM Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC is seeking a junior-level Environmental Scientist on a full-time basis out of our Irvine, CA office to participate in a variety of environmental compliance tasks in support of our RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, regulated waste, hazardous materials management, stormwater and other environmental compliance media including auditing programs. The successful candidate will prepare technical and compliance reports, conduct technical and regulatory analyses and perform diverse fieldwork, including sampling inspections and audits.
Apply expertise to both standard and non-standard situations, ensuring environmental standards are met across projects. Be expected to maintain current knowledge of environmental regulations and emerging developments. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance and provide clients with practical, science-based solutions. This position will primarily be 50% office and 50% field requiring travel to client facilities conduct environmental compliance reviews/audits and/or gather related data.

- Executing and managing various work scopes, while meeting project schedules and budgets.
- Collection and interpretation/evaluation of scientific data.
- Executing field work within project schedule and budgetary goals.
- Use various environmental databases and software to research project/site requirements and document the results in a technical report.
- Work independently and as part of a project team and be able to adjust to changing conditions or client requirements.
- Adheres to established health and safety policies and procedures and executes work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Understand technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, and ensures conformance to applicable technical standards.
- Interfacing with client personnel at a facility level.
- Has developing experience, knowledge, and skills in own discipline.
- Flexible and willing to support other projects as needed.
- Draft technical documents for regulatory agencies and private clients.
- Communications with regulatory agencies.
- Time management to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines.
- Applying knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
- Following defined processes explicitly while also being able to identify and accommodate new or changing scenarios as well as developing processes for new activities.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, a core science (such as geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), engineering, or related area required.
- Related work experience of 3-4 years.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must have strong organizational skills.
