As a Security Officer - Shopping Center Patrol in Irvine, CA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage security-related incidents. You will assist guests and tenants with directions and questions, communicate clearly with team members, and document observations.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and employees by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of common areas, parking areas, corridors, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disturbances, assisting with lost and found matters, and contacting law enforcement and/or medical services when needed.
  • Monitor entrances, loading areas, and other designated points for authorized access and proper use, and assist with crowd flow during peak shopping hours and special events.
  • Document observations, patrol activity, and incident details in written reports and/or electronic systems, and communicate notable security-related concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
