Security Guard

Essential Functions

• Monitor facility and surrounding areas to guard against suspicious activities.
• Patrol building and grounds by foot and vehicle to protect the establishment against potential threats.
• Respond to front desk duties during off‑hours, including phone calls, customer assistance, inquiries, contacting staff and managers, vendor assistance, and relaying information to appropriate parties.
• Contact authorities (police, fire departments, etc.) in emergencies or threats such as fire, medical emergencies, unwelcome violators, or other suspicious activities.
• Authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, vendors, and others to maintain security of premises.
• Reject, apprehend, or expel violators from the premises if deemed necessary.
• Escort personnel to their vehicles or departments as requested by management or Human Resources.
• Inspect all entry points—doors, windows, and gates—to ensure they are secure.
• Address violations, infractions, property damage, suspicious activity, threats, hazards, disturbances, and any other irregular activity.
• Respond to and investigate alarms and disturbances, addressing or escalating incidents as appropriate.
• Complete incident reports for irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Relay escalated incidents to the appropriate department (e.g., Management, Facilities, Operations, Human Resources).
• Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and detect evidence of tampering.
• Perform other related duties and projects as business needs require at the direction of management.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of work experience required.
• Previous experience as a Security Guard preferred.

• Current Security Guard License (required).
• Valid CA driver’s license.
• Ability to comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Must pass company driving background qualifications to operate company‑assigned vehicles.

Pay Range: $18.00/hr. to $19.00/hr.
