- Security Basics: learn, retain, and perform basic healthcare security functions
- Risk Management:
identify, educate, manage, and report security risks - Communication: listen, share, modify information, and communicate with stakeholders across departments
- Service Delivery: consistently demonstrate professional, responsive behavior to client needs
- Leadership: motivate, inspire, and influence others
- Observe and stay vigilant for signs of crime, disorder, hazard, or unusual activity
- Patrol on foot, bicycle, or vehicle; check for unsafe conditions or security violations
- Verbally and, if needed, physically de‑escalate individuals
- Inspect security devices and fire control equipment
- Screen patients, visitors, and employees for quick admission
- Respond to emergencies (fire, medical, bomb threat, flooding, hazardous materials, inclement weather) with calm urgency
- Prepare accurate logs and investigative reports
- Read and interpret police reports, local/state law, and procedure manuals
- Maintain the Lost and Found log per departmental policy
- Ensure property removal follows policy and client standards
- Pass pre‑employment screening (Drug Test, Health Screen, Criminal Background Check)
- Wear an N95 mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines on site
- Complete healthcare competency assessment and training on defusing assaultive behavior
- 18 years of age with high school diploma or GED
- Reliable means of communication (cell phone)
- Legal right to work in the United States
- Valid government‑issued driver’s license
