Position OverviewA successful Fire Restoration Technician monitors, inspects and completes tasks for restoration jobs to ensure completion of drying, demolition, pack‑out of contents and various fire restoration activities. The technician prepares and reviews documentation—including notes, photos and documents—according to company policies and procedures to secure reimbursement from insurance companies, and explains processes and next steps to customers in person.

- Retrieve work orders, ensure appropriate equipment and supplies are loaded on the truck needed for the job, arrive at the work site.
- Explain processes used to complete active jobs and next steps to resolution to customers using printed materials as a guide, with or without a supervisor.
- Complete assigned jobs according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job with urgency.
- Perform fire/smoke damage repair tasks—including water extraction, pack‑out of contents, removal/disposing of non‑salvageable materials, light construction and demolition—as directed by a supervisor.
- Ensure equipment, supplies, vehicles, and products are properly handled; report any equipment malfunction or damage to supervisor.
- Inspect jobs after completion and obtain customer signatures for approval; request payments when necessary.
- Make daily adjustments to the drying plan based on meter readings.
- Resolve issues with customers, communicate customer issues and daily job activities with the supervisor and key company staff.
- Prepare documentation and pictures according to company policies and procedures to ensure reimbursement from insurance companies.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in the restoration or construction industry preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good problem‑solving and customer‑service skills.
- Knowledge of the disaster restoration industry.
- Ability to prioritize activities and meet deadlines.
- Experience entering data using a tablet or mobile phone.
- Report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform.
- Read and follow product label usage instructions.
- Certifications preferred but not required:
- FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
- OCT – Odor Control Technician
