Installation Technician
Position Summary
- The Installation Technician reports to the Director, Project Managers.

The Commercial Kitchen Installer plays a critical role in delivering, assembling, and installing commercial kitchen equipment for our customers. This position requires mechanical aptitude, basic construction skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Essential Functions & ResponsibilitiesProduct Handling and Unloading
- Safely unload trucks and handle products to minimize damage during transport.
- Move equipment to designated areas for assembly and installation.
Equipment Assembly and Installation
- Assemble and set up commercial kitchen equipment according to specifications and customer requirements.
- Assist with construction tasks such as erecting walk‑in coolers/freezers and hanging exhaust hoods.
Construction Support
- Assist with welding and polishing stainless steel components as needed.
- Follow blueprints, schematics, and work orders to ensure accurate installations.
Logistics and Maintenance
- Load tools and equipment onto trucks, ensuring proper securing for transport.
- Conduct daily inspections and cleaning of trucks to maintain safety and cleanliness standards.
Quality Assurance and Documentation
- Inspect installations with contractors and customers to ensure quality and satisfaction.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly using computer tablets.
Communication and Coordination
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager regarding job progress and any issues that arise.
- Track expenses incurred during projects and adhere to company procedures.
- Stainless steel welding skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed to meet customer demands.
- Clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment (hoods, ice machines, dish machines, steamers, ranges, convection ovens, etc.) and basic construction principles.
- Ability to diagnose and address inventory discrepancy issues from beginning to end.
- Proficiency with computers and mobile devices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and assist with on‑site project management.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent military or practical experience.
- 1–3 years of experience in general commercial construction.
- General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and basic construction codes.
- Experience working with mechanical equipment and stainless steel.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Certification from a trade school is beneficial.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post‑offer acceptance.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Bend or twist body.
- Use hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Maintain or regain balance.
- Kneel, stoop, crouch, or crawl.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay will reflect the candidate’s unique qualifications and may be higher or lower based on geographic location. Additional factors include responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and internal equity.
In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for Tri Mark’s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and potential bonus programs for leadership positions.
