Job Summary
We are seeking an Audio Visual Technician I to assist with the installation of commercial audio-visual systems, including projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, microphones, and low-voltage cabling. This hands‑on role involves mounting equipment, terminating cables, reading blueprints, and supporting installation projects while following established safety standards. This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity offering long‑term career growth and on‑the‑job training within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities- Install projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, sound masking systems, and other AV equipment.
- Mount displays, projectors, speakers, wireless microphones, and associated hardware on various wall and ceiling types.
- Install, route, and terminate low‑voltage AV cabling, including 18/2, coaxial, CAT5e, and CAT6 cables.
- Terminate RG6, HD‑SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA connectors.
- Route and dress cabling from telecommunications closets to AV equipment locations.
- Install cable pathways, including J‑hooks and D‑rings.
- Perform cable management, labeling, and organization to maintain professional installation standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and installation documentation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with team members, supervisors, and other trades on the job site.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean work environment.
- 1–3 years of commercial audio‑visual installation experience.
- Basic experience with low‑voltage installations and AV equipment, including speakers, microphones, amplifiers, projectors, and displays.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and installation drawings.
- Ability to safely use ladders and scissor lifts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for the duration of the shift.
- Must provide and use basic hand tools, including:
- Multi‑bit screwdriver
- Tape measure
- Snips
- Needle‑nose pliers
- Channel‑lock pliers
- RG6 cable stripper
- Coax cable crimper
- Punch‑down tool
- Flashlight Tool pouch
- Steel toe or composite toe work boots
- Work gloves
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Typical schedule:
Monday through Friday with a 7:00 AM start time. - Expected workweek: 40–45 hours.
- Travel is not required.
- Candidates should reside within the Los Angeles or Orange County metropolitan area.
