Installation Technician 1

The Installation Technician 1 will perform installation tasks on AVI-SPL contracted projects including, but not limited to: cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack systems and metal fabrication per project directives and requirements, coordinating with lead Technician ensuring projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.

Day-to-day responsibilities include performing installation tasks as noted in job summary and in support of Lead Technician, reading and interpreting electronic schematics and architectural blueprints, using hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems installation related tasks, assisting Lead Tech with management and security of all associated equipment and tools on jobsite, assisting with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring, traveling to various job sites required, and performing additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.

AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account. This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

Must-haves include good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors, a customer service oriented focus on client satisfaction, basic understanding of audio-visual systems, basic proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling, basic ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with audiovisual equipment and systems, ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner, basic understanding of network infrastructure and how it integrates with audiovisual systems, ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines, valid driver's license, and a motor vehicle record that meets AVI-SPL driving privileges standards.

Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice-to-haves include formal education in electronics or related field and ability to obtain formal approved clearances.

Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, and physical activity, regular bending, kneeling, and reaching, climbing, overhead work, and working at heights, use of tools and equipment as required, frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, heavier lifting may require assistance or mechanical support, warehouse, field, or construction environments, and reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.
