Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in
Irvine, CA. This role requires strong expertise in Microfocus/Net Cobol with SQL and Unix as a key qualification for consideration.
Rate Range: $45/hour to $55/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Microfocus Cobol/Net Cobol in a Unix or Linux environment.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to support batch processing and transactional workflows.
- Analyze system requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement code fixes to ensure application stability.
- Perform production support, including monitoring jobs, debugging failures, and resolving system errors.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications and program logic.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and performance tuning of Cobol programs on enterprise systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of hands‑on experience working with Microfocus Cobol/Net Cobol, SQL, and Unix/Linux environments.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to support complex legacy system maintenance and enhancements.
- Proven ability to work with COBOL applications on enterprise systems and perform SQL‑based data processing.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $55.00 per hour
