Firmware Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our embedded systems development team. In this role, you will architect, design, and implement low-level firmware modules, middleware, and diagnostic software for leading‑edge optical PHY chipsets and work across the full development lifecycle, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance solutions.

• Drive software design and development for new products while maintaining legacy systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including system, analog, and digital hardware designers.
• Develop and troubleshoot complex firmware applications in embedded

• Provide leadership in architectural governance, design patterns, and code hygiene.
• Act as a technical ambassador to help recruit and mentor top engineering talent.

• Bachelor’s degree + 8 years experience, Master’s + 6 years, or PhD + 3 years in a related field.
• Proven expertise in C and ARM assembly on embedded targets.
• Strong understanding of real‑time systems, multi‑threading, and concurrent programming.
• Experience with multiprocessor programming and inter‑processor communication.
• Hands‑on driver experience (MDIO, I2C, SPI, etc.).

• Familiarity with ARM processor architectures.
• Software development experience in Windows (Visual C++) and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of open‑source licensing (GPL, LGPL, ASL) and proprietary software interfacing.

The annual base salary range for this position is $108,000 - $172,800. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
