Job Overview
Lead Platform Engineer – Senior individual contributor (PE5) on the Banzai SDLC / Dev Ops team. Responsible for building, optimizing, and modernizing tool chains used by engineering teams daily.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver enterprise‑grade developer tooling, treating SDLC as a product with developers as primary consumers.
- Evolve the core SDLC toolchain end‑to‑end: CI/CD pipeline orchestration, code‑quality and static‑analysis, artifact and package management, and build‑automation frameworks.
- Architect quality gates, artifact promotion strategies, dependency governance, and pipeline patterns that are fast, reliable, and self‑service.
- Define and deliver standardized SDLC capabilities—including automation, security integration, observability, and AI‑assisted development—to reduce cognitive load while preserving flexibility.
- Lead hands‑on adoption and enterprise enablement of AI‑assisted software development (Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, etc.), building enterprise controls, guardrails, and usage patterns.
- Partner across Platform Engineering, Architecture, Security, and application teams to ensure solutions are intuitive, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Communicate solutions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and translate platform strategy into concrete developer outcomes.
- Continuously experiment, evaluate emerging tools, and incorporate learnings into scalable platform capabilities.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or Dev Ops.
- Strong foundation as a developer who builds and ships software, with experience building CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and developer tool chains.
- Hands‑on experience with tools such as Harness.io, Sonar Qube, and package/artifact management solutions (Artifactory, Nexus, etc.).
- Experience building developer tooling and SDLC platforms that serve many teams as long‑lived platform products.
- Practitioner of AI‑assisted development, using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Git Hub Copilot daily and defining enterprise‑ready patterns (access, data handling, cost visibility, auditing, logging).
- Strong knowledge of modern software delivery practices: CI/CD, Git Ops, cloud‑native platforms, container orchestration (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Proficiency in Type Script, Python, Java, or Go; ability to write production code.
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration (best: Harness.io, Git Hub Actions). Familiarity with code‑quality and static‑analysis platforms (Sonar Qube, Sonar Cloud). Knowledge of observability concepts (metrics, logs, traces, Open Telemetry).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Competitive salary in the range $153,842–$246,147, annual performance bonus, profitability bonus, and 15% retirement contribution from Capital.
