Role Summary
The Product Integrity organization develops and implements security protections in the vehicle and supporting infrastructure. We are involved in the full chain of security from defining the requirements, planning software and hardware security, developing, deploying, and maintaining security protections.
As a Privacy Engineer in Product Integrity, this person will help define the roadmap of our Privacy Engineering team while working to develop and scale services and infrastructure that are critical to ensuring the privacy of vehicle owners and operators. The engineer will be part of a cross discipline team that include embedded, cloud, and data engineers responsible for ensuring user privacy and compliance of both our services and vehicles.
When performing these responsibilities, this engineer will work closely with security engineers across Product Integrity as well as with engineering partners from across the Software organization to ensure user privacy is protected.
- Build, support, and maintain in-house privacy critical services.
- Help set privacy standards and demonstrate implementation of privacy best practices.
- Help drive specification and implementation of new and ongoing privacy services.
- Mitigate vulnerabilities found or reported by internal and external parties by aligning with company’s goals and objectives.
- Implement privacy/personal data protections to comply with regulations and industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- 6 years experience using modern programming languages such as Go or Python to develop production quality software.
- Experience working on the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of large-scale distributed systems with high availability.
- Working understanding of modern cryptography, cloud native development, privacy, and security best practices in software development.
- In depth knowledge of any of the following: privacy enhancing technologies, data classification, privacy by design principles.
- Extensive experience working cross functionally with heterogeneous engineering teams to ensure the development of privacy critical services and policies.
- Experience driving projects with ambiguous requirements from planning through completion.
