Firmware Engineer - Leader in Fibre Channel/NVME Networked-Storage

As a Firmware Engineer at Broadcom ECD, you will design, develop, debug, and test embedded firmware for cutting‑edge networking and networked‑storage products. You will work both independently and as part of a world‑class engineering team to advance innovative technology and support custom firmware features across multiple sites.

• Design, implement, and test firmware for Broadcom ECD’s 64 G FC/NVME HBA products.
• Provide target‑mode and error‑recovery support while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Create and execute test cases, develop automated test scripts, and support development initiatives for embedded systems and firmware.
• Document design decisions, test results, and provide clear communication with teams and OEM clients.

• Embedded firmware development experience, including C/Assembly programming and a real‑time OS environment.
• Experience with protocol analyzers for FC, NVME, and/or PCIe and solid debugging skills, ideally with In‑Circuit Emulation (ICE) debuggers.
• Knowledge of storage and network protocol development in a Linux environment.
• Experience developing and tuning ARM‑based high‑performance firmware (other microprocessor experience acceptable).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and adherence to software development processes.
• Pro‑active problem solving, attention to detail, focus on quality, and a team‑player attitude.

• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 8 + years of related experience.
• MS degree in the same fields with 6 + years of related experience.

The annual base salary range for this position is $109,700 - $175,500. The role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and equity awards.
