Job Description THE OPPORTUNITYThe Intern - Embedded Software, System, and Test Engineer will report to the Senior Engineering Director heading our Irvine Engineering team. The successful individual in this role will learn and assist with embedded software development, debugging, and testing for our advanced MIMO MANET radios for different applications.
This internship is fully onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies' Irvine office in the heart of Irvine near the vibrant Irvine Spectrum.
Roles, responsibilities, and learning outcomes- Embedded firmware development, implementation, testing, and debugging for Silvus Stream Caster radios.
- Development of firmware testing environments and scripts.
- Opportunities to further engage, learn, and develop skills as projects progress.
- In-progress Bachelor's degree or preferably in-progress graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical fields.
- Ability to work independently upon receiving instruction/feedback, take initiative, and effectively interact with cross-functional teams and customers.
- Proficiency with PC office applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and the internal team.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
- All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug testing.
- Experience with AMD/Xilinx FPGA's and ARM processor cores.
- Working knowledge of wireless communications and networking protocols.
- Understanding of communication systems and signal processing algorithms, including areas such as channel estimation, beamforming, etc.
- Indoor air-conditioned facility.
- Some outdoor fieldwork.
- Lift equipment, up to 50 lbs. for the setup of demonstration and testing.
- Walking/Moving in the lab.
CA Pay Range: $28.60 - $33.80 / hourly [in-progress Bachelor's degree]
CA Pay Range: $42.00 / hourly [in-progress graduate degree]
