Embedded Software Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to support the development of next-generation high-performance, high-capacity AI storage modules for aerospace applications. The engineer will work on low-level embedded software including firmware, Linux kernel modules, device drivers, BIOS/UEFI, bootloaders, and Board Support Packages (BSPs). This role focuses on enabling reliable Linux-based platforms across heterogeneous hardware architectures including x86, ARM, and specialized accelerator platforms while collaborating closely with hardware and software engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, port, and configure Linux kernel modules and embedded software.
- Support porting and configuration of GMSL3 drivers and related utilities.
- Develop and maintain embedded device drivers.
- Customize and maintain BIOS/UEFI to support platform requirements.
- Implement minimal hardware initialization required for Linux kernel boot.
- Develop and integrate Board Support Packages (BSPs) for x86 platforms.
- Perform board bring-up, validation, debugging, and hardware verification.
- Configure Linux kernels and device trees for new hardware platforms.
- Perform testing using evaluation boards.
- Support Linux operating system integration on bare-metal platforms.
- Ensure compatibility across ARM, x86 (AMD
64), and heterogeneous compute architectures. - Develop firmware validation utilities and diagnostic tools.
- Configure root file systems and storage initialization.
- Work closely with hardware, platform, and Dev Ops teams.
- Document firmware configurations, BIOS modifications, BSPs, and initialization procedures.
- Provide technical documentation, knowledge transfer, and engineering support.
- 3+ years of Embedded Linux development experience.
- Strong understanding of Linux kernel boot flow and hardware initialization.
- Experience developing Board Support Packages (BSPs) for x86 architectures.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience with Linux kernel module programming.
- Hands-on experience with device driver development and porting.
- Experience debugging embedded systems using: JTAG, Serial Console, Oscilloscopes.
- Experience with embedded storage technologies including: eMMC, NVMe, SATA, SD Storage.
- Experience configuring Linux kernel modules.
- Knowledge of bootloaders and embedded Linux platforms.
- Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platform development.
- Experience with GMSL3 protocol and related drivers.
- Knowledge of Secure Boot, TPM, and firmware security.
- Familiarity with cloud or edge IaaS platforms.
- Experience working with heterogeneous compute platforms and SoCs.
- Exposure to Continuous Integration (CI) for embedded firmware builds.
