AS400 Developer

Overview

The Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. They work primarily with RPG (RPG III/IV, RPGLE, Free-Format RPG), CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, SQL, and IBM i system utilities to build and enhance business-critical applications.

• Develop, modify, and maintain AS400/IBM i applications.
• Write and optimize RPG, CL, SQL, and DB2 programs.
• Analyze business requirements and provide technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Support system integrations, data migration, and application modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, and cross-functional teams.

• 5+ years of experience with IBM i (AS400) development.
• Strong proficiency in RPGLE, Free-Format RPG, CLLE, DB2/400, and embedded SQL.
• Experience with application support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of system interfaces, APIs, and batch processing.
• Familiarity with modernization tools and integration with web-based applications is a plus.
