General Position Overview
The Accounting Manager manages the General Accounting and Treasury functions for U.S., Canada, and several South American operations, and prepares consolidated financial statements for multiple subsidiaries and other reports for review by the parent company in Korea. This position is also responsible for managing and preparing corporate tax returns in cooperation with outside accounting firms, as well as other tax filings and business registrations.
This position serves as the primary point of contact for both internal and external financial audits and reviews and approves invoices, bills and employee expense reimbursements.
- Manage General Accounting (A/P, A/R) and Treasury (Banking) functions and personnel, providing daily guidance and direction
- Manage and maintain transactions in SAP and COMPASS enterprise systems, including account reconciliation, budgets, and analysis
- Prepare Consolidated Financial Reports and support for Corporate Tax Returns (Federal and States)
- Oversee property tax rendition and payment processing
- Assist and support other departments as needed, including requests from global HQ in Seoul
- Prepare and respond to Annual Internal Control Audit and External Audit of Financial Statements
- Maintain Stock Ledger/Register and issuance of Stock Certificates
- Manage corporation registrations, renewals, business licenses, and related compliance records
- Regular communication with HQ teams in Seoul
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated expertise in U.S. and local corporate tax structures, including arm's-length transactions and transfer pricing
- Expertly utilizes in-depth knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying US GAAP / IFRS
- Hands‑on experience implementing or maintaining SAP or similar ERP systems in a multi‑company environment
- Adept in consolidating financial statements of subsidiaries and reporting to parent company
- Ability to effectively communicate accounting principles in English and Korean
- General knowledge of all aspects of financial and managerial accounting
- Working knowledge and experience interpreting corporate tax code (Federal & State), corporate laws, and UCC
- Skilled in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5 years’ experience managing accounting and tax functions across multiple jurisdictions and subsidiaries, applying and interpreting US GAAP / IFRS as a subject‑matter expert, and implementing or maintaining SAP or other ERP systems
- Work performed in an office environment where the noise level is moderate. Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk around the office. Frequently required to work on a computer.
- Requires lifting/carrying of filing boxes up to 20 pounds.
The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions.
