Summary:

Reports to:

Tax Manager

Minimum Qualifications:

+ 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and use tax compliance.

+ Experience in a multi-state environment required.

+ Hands-on experience with Avalara tax engine or Vertex tax engine required.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required

+ Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings as required to meet reporting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

+ CPA or CPA eligible

+ Proficiency in Avalara Tax software

+ Microsoft Access or SQL database programming experience is a plus.

+ Database programing skills

Essential Job Functions:

The job functions include a broad variety of tax matters including, but are not limited to the following:

+ Assist with multi-state sales tax compliance.

+ Assist with sales tax audits.

+ Prepare inter-company reconciliations.

+ Prepare account reconciliations.

+ Assist with maintenance of in-house tax systems.

+ Assist with field responses including research of taxability related to various scenarios.

+ Assist as needed with business license, unclaimed property, and personal property tax matters.

+ Research and maintain a working knowledge of state sales & tax developments.

+ Collaborate with other departments within the organization and provide assistance as needed.
