Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Senior Accountant I - supports the accounting and reporting of the Company by performing essential accounting tasks and supporting daily accounting operations.

• Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.
• Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.
• Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
• Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
• Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.

• Prepares various journals, account reconciliations, and monthly reports.
• Supports monthly close and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal standards.
• Assists in the preparation and analysis of results, including identification of key drivers versus plan, projection, and prior year.
• Participates in special projects as requested.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field.
• Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required.
• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems.
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills.
• Process improvement oriented.
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process.
