Senior Insurance Accountant

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Insurance Accountant to join our rapidly growing client in Property & Casualty insurance. This permanent, full-time role requires expertise in GAAP/STAT Yellow Book and reinsurance accounting and a CPA qualification.

Salary: $95,000 - $110,000 per year.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the financial reporting for our Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance line of business.

Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements, including Yellow Book and other relevant accounting standards.

Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements.

Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.

Review and implement changes to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with evolving regulations.

Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

Participate in the development and implementation of strategic financial initiatives.

Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
Master’s degree preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in P&C insurance accounting.

Extensive knowledge of Yellow Book and statutory reporting requirements.

Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data.

Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software.
