Staff Accountant Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations, accurate financial reporting, timely billing, and efficient transaction processing. This is a newly created role designed to support continued company growth. The Staff Accountant will partner with the Finance and Accounting team, as well as cross-functional business leaders, to support operational and financial goals.
Position Details- Type: Direct Hire
- Location: Irving, TX — Headquarters
- Compensation: Salary will be based on skills, experience, and location, with an expected range of $65,000 to $85,000. We are also open to market feedback on compensation expectations.
- Reports To: Senior Director of Finance
- Reason for Vacancy: Newly created role to support company growth.
- Assist with the preparation of journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
- Manage customer billing, ensuring invoices are accurate and issued on time.
- Administer customer refunds, including approvals and documentation.
- Prepare, review, and process domestic and international wire transfers.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation calculations, physical inventory support, and related account reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial reports and cost center reporting, including variance analysis and support for operational management.
- Provide daily sales projection reports to management.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and transactional issues.
- Support audit and compliance activities by maintaining accurate records, preparing supporting documentation, and following established accounting policies and internal controls.
- Participate in ad hoc accounting, reporting, and process improvement projects.
- Collaborate across departments to support cross-functional projects, system enhancements, and process improvements.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, required.
- Two to five years of accounting experience in public accounting and/or private industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting or enterprise software systems.
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and business information with a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
This role requires the ability to focus on details, work under deadline pressure, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks effectively. The position involves working in a professional office environment, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and using standard office equipment and accounting systems.
