Job Description Summary
Accountant for the Payroll department responsible for general ledger account reconciliations, posting payroll accruals, accounting analyses, and projects. Requires strong analytical and accounting skills, experience with large ERP and HRIS software, and ability to work with multiple levels of management.
Key Responsibilities- Handle the monthly general ledger close process including preparing GL account reconciliations and validations, posting journal entries, processing GL interfaces, variance analyses, and payroll wage payment vendor invoice reconciliation.
- Assist senior manager in providing GL mapping and accounting solutions at the department and business unit levels.
- Prepare journal entries for garnishments, PAC contributions, and other payroll-related accruals (US and Europe).
- Provide backup support to other payroll accounting team members: GL account reconciliations (bank accounts, benefits, payroll taxes, other payroll related items), preparing various journal entries, and other ad hoc accounting projects and analyses.
- Maintain standard operating procedures and desktop procedures related to the areas of responsibility.
- Conduct GL research and financial analysis for various business units.
- Manage escheatment filing process.
- Education/Training
- BA/BS degree in accounting or finance.
- Business Experience
- 3‑4 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with SAP or other large enterprise software and advanced Excel skills.
- Workday system experience.
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements as they relate to payroll.
- Specialized Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities with competing, short deadlines.
- Ability to work with multiple levels of management.
- Very strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Customer‑oriented with strong troubleshooting and issue‑resolution ability.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision as well as in a team‑based environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

$76,400 - $127,400
