Tax Director

We are looking for an experienced Tax Director to join our team in Irving, Texas on a contract basis. This position will lead income tax provision activities, support federal and multi-state compliance efforts, and partner closely with an external tax advisor to keep filings accurate and on schedule. The role reports to the Vice President of Accounting and is well suited for a hands-on tax leader who can balance technical expertise, organization, and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities:

• Direct quarterly and year-end federal and state income tax provision activities, ensuring calculations are complete, accurate, and aligned with applicable accounting guidance.
• Evaluate tax-related financial data and validate supporting work papers to maintain consistency with internal policies and reporting requirements.
• Partner with the external tax firm to facilitate outsourced compliance work, supplying documentation and resolving questions needed to complete required filings.
• Gather and organize prior-year tax returns, schedules, and related records so materials are readily available for recurring provision and filing cycles.
• Oversee the preparation and delivery of information for three distinct tax filings, monitoring timelines and following through on outstanding items.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to obtain reliable data inputs that support provision computations and compliance reporting.
• Maintain well-structured tax files and supporting documentation to improve audit readiness and simplify future reporting periods.
• Track filing milestones, communicate status updates, and address issues proactively with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
• Use Excel and enterprise systems such as SAP to analyze tax data, reconcile information, and support reporting accuracy.
