The Senior Accountant III – Wholesale Accounting executes accurate and timely transaction processing and settlement, reconciliation, and reporting activities across Vistra’s diverse energy portfolio.

• Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls
• Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision‑making and operational efficiency
• Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards
• Collaborates with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices
• Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines
• Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions
• Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development

• Prepare, analyze, and/or review settlement data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Lead wholesale activities such as the end‑to‑end settlement lifecycle, including data validation, dispute resolution, invoice generation, and revenue/cost recognition across various transaction types.
• Lead cross‑functional projects and initiatives, contributing settlement insights to support business strategies and regulatory compliance.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field
• Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required

• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process
