Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 per year

• Manage and oversee the entire payroll process for the organization, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures.
• Execute additional tasks as needed, such as preparing 1099 and 1042 forms.
• Prepare and submit payroll reports to the appropriate departments and entities.
• Work collaboratively with the Human Resources and Finance departments to optimize payroll procedures.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.
• Stay abreast of current regulations, best practices, and industry trends in payroll accounting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting, preferably in the energy sector.
• Proficiency in payroll software, as well as with 1099, 1042, and payroll reporting.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning payroll and payroll taxes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong numeracy and data entry skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
