Seeking an Assistant Controller - Irving area

base + bonus - client is open to candidates in the range of 120-170k DOE

• 1. QUALITY. Strong critical thinking & analytical skills.
• 2. 4-5 years min “relevant manufacturing” experience (3 may be too light)
• 3. Needs to do heavy lifting tactical work. Roll up sleeves (small group)

• Heavy cost Accounting experience
• Ability to manage a remote workforce (managing couple bookeepers / accountants in other locations)
• Able to do some travel to visit other locations (florida) and other sites for potential acquisitions
• Experience with M1 ERP Software or something similar

I need someone to know well beyond what a journal entry is. Someone that understands month-end accruals - from the CFO

• Company plans to triple in size within a few years through acquisitions, so someone that has Acquisition Integration experience or PE experience is highly preferred
• CPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing would be nice to have)
• Experience managing fixed asset systems or modules

Our client is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to support the CFO in a growing manufacturing environment. This role will oversee month-end close, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, budgeting/forecasting, and ERP optimization (M1 preferred) while helping drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience
, strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory, GAAP, and financial reporting
, along with experience supporting acquisition integrations, ERP implementations, and internal controls
. Prior supervisory experience and the ability to partner cross-functionally with operations are highly desired.

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, including financial reporting, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Oversee cost accounting
  , inventory, standard costing, BOMs, labor routings, and production cost analysis.
• Support and optimize the M1 ERP system (or similar), including system enhancements and process automation.
• Lead or assist with acquisition integrations
  , including financial system conversions, data migration, and chart of accounts alignment.
• Manage fixed asset accounting
  , including capitalization, depreciation, reconciliations, and capital expenditures.
• Support GAAP compliance
  , internal controls, and internal/external audit activities while identifying process improvements.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff and serve as a backup to the CFO.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and decision support for leadership.
