Assistant Controller

We are partnering with a growing organization to identify an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role supporting financial operations, process improvements, and business growth in a dynamic environment.

The Assistant Controller will work closely with executive leadership to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to ERP enhancements, acquisition integrations, and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
• Partner with operations to improve costing, inventory controls, and manufacturing reporting.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for leadership.
• Assist with acquisition integrations, including financial reporting alignment and system transitions.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls while supporting internal and external audits.
• Help optimize ERP systems and accounting processes to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support strategic business objectives.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred

• CPA or CMA certification (or actively pursuing).
• Experience supporting ERP implementations or system enhancements.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
• Experience supporting acquisitions or business integrations.
