- Reporting and Analysis
** The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting through timely month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed gross profit analysis. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding differences.
* Perform detailed gross profit analysis, including variance analysis by merchandise category, vendor, and location.
* Analyze sales, inventory, cost of sales, markdowns, shrink, and other factors impacting gross margin performance.
* Prepare monthly management financial reports and schedules.
* Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and internal control requirements.
* Participate in system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvement projects.
* Ad-hoc duties as needed

* Qualifications:

*** Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
* 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience.
* CPA certification or CPA eligible is a plus.
** Key

Skills:

*** Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Experience performing financial statement and gross profit analysis.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, and complex formulas.
* Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar financial systems.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Knowledge of inventory accounting, cost of sales, and gross margin reporting
* Experience supporting process automation and reporting enhancements using Power BI or similar analytics tools.
