Risk Management Administrative Assistant I
Work directly with the Director of Benefits and Risk Management and support the department through a variety of administrative tasks and projects. Perform complex tasks involved in managing various programs, including but not limited to, Workers' Compensation, Unemployment, Safety and Loss Control, and Auto Liability. Coordinate the operations of the department in the absence of the Director of Benefits & Risk Management.
Must be highly self-motivated, professional, capable of managing workload and prioritizing tasks/projects in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment.
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Some college or equivalent work experience preferred
- Adjuster's license or equivalent certification(s) preferred
- TASBO certification, or willingness to obtain within 2 years of entering the position

- Possess knowledge of Texas Department of Insurance – Division of Workers' Compensation laws and rules
- Possess strong, professional verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in the advanced features of generally used office software including MS Windows (Word, Excel Advanced, Outlook, Adobe Pro, Power Point)
- Possess knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Ability to conduct small group oral presentations
- Provide recommendations for new methods of working to improve effectiveness and efficiency
- Self-motivated and ability to work and prioritize tasks with little supervision
Experience:
Three (3) to five (5) years of administrative support (required) and risk management experience (preferred), including workers' compensation claims processing. Must have strong mathematical and analytical skills.
