Body Shop Prepper

Cox Automotive is seeking a Body Shop Prepper to support high-quality collision and refinish work in our on-site shop. In this role, you'll prepare vehicle body panels and surfaces for paint by sanding, masking, applying fillers and primers, and ensuring clean, smooth finishes that meet Cox Automotive standards. You will collaborate closely with painters, estimators, and technicians to meet production timelines while maintaining a safe, organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle panels and surfaces for paint through sanding, masking, and priming
• Inspect vehicles and identify necessary prep work based on repair orders
• Use hand and power tools safely to repair, smooth, and finish body surfaces
• Mix and apply primers and fillers according to manufacturer specifications
• Coordinate with painters, estimators, and technicians to meet quality and cycle-time targets
• Maintain clean, organized work bays, tools, and equipment
• Follow safety, environmental, and Cox Automotive quality standards
• Document work performed and communicate status with supervisors and teammates
