Job Summary

The Collections Specialist will facilitate collection efforts of delinquent accounts ensuring money owed is received promptly.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor assigned accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up with clients via phone and/or email on outstanding balances
  • Maintain log of payment promises and pertinent account details, schedule follow-up communication with account holder
  • Record all collection activity
  • Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status weekly
  • Escalate accounts that require collection letters to the Rail Pros Collection Manager
  • Work with internal teams to resolve billing and credit issues
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
  • Uphold the organization's standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with account holders in a courteous manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Required Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic accounting experience
  • B2B Collections
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Two years of related experience in accounts receivable preferred
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.
  • Net Suite experience is a plus
