This role sits at the intersection of pricing, strategy, and analytics, requiring a blend of business insight and data expertise to inform decision-making and evaluate complex business initiatives.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Analyze performance across geographies, demographics, and store attributes to identify key drivers of volume, margin, and competitive positioning
- Build and own analytical frameworks to assess ROI and financial impact of key business initiatives
- Design and evaluate A/B tests, ensuring results are statistically sound and tied to clear business outcomes
- Prepare accurate, well-structured datasets and supporting analysis for leadership
- Ensure outputs are defensible, traceable, and clearly explainable for high visibility use
- Deliver insights and recommendations that inform day-to-day and long-term pricing decisions, balancing financial outcomes with market dynamics
- Support high-level business needs with clear analytical outputs or dashboards
- Clarify requirements, prioritize effectively, and deliver with accuracy
- Assess newly available or underutilized data to determine business value, define high-impact use cases, and translate findings into clear analytical directions or frameworks for broader team execution
- Manage and refine core datasets used in analysis, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and usability
- Proactively identify gaps in data and work toward scalable solutions where appropriate
Qualifications:
- Education:
BS in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics or another quantitative discipline required. Master's degree in a quantitative discipline preferred. - Experience:
3+ years of relevant professional experience in analytics, strategy, or pricing. Experience supporting business decisions through financial modeling and data-driven analysis.
Knowledge and skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems into clear frameworks
- Proficiency in data visualization (Tableau/Tableau Prep), SQL, and/or Python
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analyses to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience applying statistics to forecast trends, perform cost–benefit analysis, and calculate ROI
- Ability to operate independently with limited direction
- Experience in retail, fuel, or multi-unit operations
- Experience working with large, complex data sets in cloud environments (i.e. Databricks)
- Familiarity with clustering, time series analysis, proximity analysis, and sales forecasting
