Caterpillar’s Customer Solutions Core Regions Division is hiring a highly experienced, customer‑facing Product Application Specialist to lead Vision Link adoption across our customer base.

The role is designed for a senior professional with deep product knowledge, strong technical credibility, and the ability to lead complex discussions with dealers and customers to drive measurable productivity and safety outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide product application expertise at the point of sale and by delivering various types of product training, including applied technology, job efficiency, and safety to customers, company, and dealers' sales personnel.
  • Conduct product performance studies, assess customer job site efficiency, and collect product and customer requirements to capitalize opportunities for incremental sales and create business cases for product improvement and new product introductions.
  • Manage marketing technology tools and systems and work with key stakeholders to develop a marketing technology product roadmap that drives business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on timelines, understand marketing goals, and develop the marketing technology product roadmap.
  • Oversee Vision Link activations, create training plans for dealers and customers, and collect customer requirements to feed back to the Product Group, ensuring a consistent focus on delivering solutions to solve customer pain points.
Qualifications
  • Customer Focus: Facilitates the creation of the right products and services to resolve customer business issues; fosters strong customer relationships, anticipates customer needs, and promotes continuous feedback and improvement.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Applies critical thinking techniques in decision making, organizes relevant data, clarifies concerns, and assesses risks, benefits, and alternatives.
  • Effective Communications: Provides feedback on writing and presentations, adapts materials for the audience, demonstrates empathy and assertiveness, and employs persuasive methods when soliciting agreement.
  • Relationship Management: Communicates expectations with clients, negotiates terms, conducts periodic reviews of progress, maintains long‑term relationships, and creates opportunities to educate support teams on client priorities.
  • Technical Excellence: Advises on technical solutions, engages subject matter experts, mentors others to enhance technical competence, and provides effective solutions to moderate technical challenges.
  • Value Selling: Acquires and retains customers using value‑selling techniques, coaches teams on value‑selling principles, delivers value‑added services beyond product delivery, and qualifies prospects based on customer needs.
  • Top candidates will also have experience developing and scaling sales for new or expanding technology portfolios, demonstrating the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and influencing dealer personnel and customers without direct authority.
Location and Travel

Location:

Peoria, IL or Irving, TX. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Sponsorship is NOT available. Minimum 50% travel to Canada and Western US.
