Job Title: Structural Steel Estimator
Location: Irving, TX 75063
Pay: $60,000 $ 80,000 annually + Equity + Signing Bonus (if applicable)
Job Summary:
A client of The Employee Connect is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator for an onsite position based in Irving, Texas. This role reports directly to the Chief Estimator and plays a key part in producing accurate structural steel estimates using both manual and digital methods. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in structural steel, strong construction knowledge, and the ability to interpret contract documentation.
This position will also support the development of junior estimators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual and software-based take-offs for structural steel components
- Review vendor and subcontractor quotes for scope compliance
- Analyze contract drawings, specifications, and related documentation
- Identify buy-out items and summarize key estimating data
- Assist in the training and mentorship of Estimators in Training
Must-Haves / Requirements
Summary:
- 5+ years of experience in the structural steel industry in a similar estimating role
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection means and methods
- Ability to review and interpret contract drawings and technical documents
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred, not required)
- Prior experience mentoring or training junior estimators
- Familiarity with advanced estimating tools or structural modeling software
