Construction Superintendent

DescriptionThe Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of solar installation projects nationwide, including scheduling, material shipment, surveys, and overall daily scheduling. The incumbent supervises all solar installation activities, ensuring the safety and compliance of solar projects as assigned by the General Manager.
The incumbent is expected to model daily practices that demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values, collaborate with key internal and external resources, and participate in ongoing self-development.
Key Responsibilities- Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
- Performs daily Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) to ensure compliance with Issued for Construction drawings and corrects any defects in a timely manner
- Manages construction to project schedule to ensure on-time delivery and completion
- Ensures all regulations are met and required permits are acquired, coordinating with utilities and other permitting agencies
- Proactively identifies elements of proposed project designs and construction requirements that could lead to disputes, claims, increased cost, or adverse impact
- Provides professional oversight to ensure completion in a timely manner and within budget
- Monitors, evaluates, and reports the operational and financial status of construction projects
- Communicates effectively with internal departments, external subcontractors, and suppliers when revisions or addendums are required
- Evaluates and approves all payment applications and invoices related to construction capital projects, ensuring budget compliance
- Manages field operations, including execution of subcontracts and component procedures
- Selects vendor, contractor, or subcontractor that provides exemplary professional service in a cost‑efficient manner
- Exercises professional judgment in selecting subcontractors and managing company needs while maintaining productive relationships
- Maintains accurate records of activities throughout projects, including post‑completion reviews
- Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Knowledge of solar and construction industry
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and analysis and reporting of financial data
- Computer and related software knowledge and/or experience; ability to learn and use new computer programs such as MS Office and MS Project
- Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with internal and external customers
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and conceptual skills
- Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to handle a complex workload

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred - Minimum three years’ experience in site construction management in commercial and utility‑scale solar PV, including direct experience managing projects >1 MW and all aspects of solar projects (civil, electrical, mechanical) preferred
- NABCEP Installer, NFPA 70e, and OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- This position directs and manages subcontractors, including interviewing, hiring, training, development, planning, assigning, coaching, performance reviews, resolving complaints, and ensuring consistent application of organizational needs
- Up to 80% travel, including overnight and up to one‑week durations
