Position Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and take-offs for the electrical department.t
- Itemize subcontractor scopes and prepare bid packages.
- Complete accurate take-offs with Accubid and Live Count.
- Prepare bids either from a 100% Design Development, Permit Drawings and or Issued for Construction Drawings.
- Overlay drawings for any changes in scope in Bluebeam or Live Count.
- Analyze bids and propose value engineer cost saving ideas.
- Provide leadership, direction, train and mentor Junior Estimators and work well with all team members.
- Stay up-to-date and apply local and national codes.
- Review vendors bill of materials and subcontractors scope letters for accuracy.
- Prepare cost in Accubid by recapitulating material, labor, indirect labor, subcontractors, general expense, equipment rental, quoted material, bid breakdowns and final pricing.
- Ability to breakdown all pricing in various formats from Accubid and providing alternate designs or cost innovation options.
- Prepare proposal letters and bid forms and or RFPs.
- Participate in client scope review meetings.
- Manage estimating processes and timelines to meet company objectives, both short and long term.
- Communicate with customers to define the project scope, address deficiencies, negotiate pricing and build relationships
- Prepare and present completed estimating packages to company executives and senior management.
- Continuously follow up on all bid projects and accurately forecast future awards/probabilities.
- Properly transfer awarded projects to operations team and perform buyouts when necessary.
- Follow estimating procedures and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
- Time Management and Communication is a must in estimating. Fulfilling deadlines and able to communicate the information proposed to the customer.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.
- Bachelors degree a plus or equivalent required related experience
- 3+ years of experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, preferably within CECs Core Market projects
- Must have a current Drivers License and reliable transportation.
- Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
- Must be able to pass drug and background check.

- Proficient in Accubid, LIveCount.
Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam. - High attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize.

- Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.
- Flexible and adaptable; ability to work in a team environment and initiative to work alone
