Overview
Scouting America is seeking a Supervisor of Multimedia who plays a vital role within our nonprofit organization, responsible for overseeing and enhancing multimedia content and technical delivery to effectively communicate our mission and impact. Reporting to the Director, Marketing Experience, the Supervisor of Multimedia directs and advances Scouting America’s multimedia strategy by leading the production of high-quality video, audio, photography, web content, training materials, and meeting presentations, and oversees the technical aspects of corporate broadcasts.
This role supervises, develops, and coaches a team of in-house and contract multimedia professionals, ensuring projects align with organizational priorities, brand standards, and timelines. Serving as a producer and project manager, the Supervisor of Multimedia writes scripts and oversees end-to-end production for a wide range of media projects supporting training, marketing, and internal and external communications. This role acts as a technical director for corporate Town Hall Zoom broadcasts and select national board meetings, ensuring smooth streaming delivery and in-room experiences.

- Supervises, develops, coaches, and directs multimedia staff. Works with staff to establish development plans and objectives, evaluates performance, coaches and directs day-to-day operations and measurable goals for each staff person.
- Determine scope and specifications for Scouting America multimedia projects by conducting meetings with clients. Create project budgets and schedules, working with the multimedia production manager.
- Work with staff and contractors to ensure on time and within budget project performance.
- Directly support meeting management staff in the production of all meeting presentations and during live performances.
- Perform necessary research for scriptwriting assignments, including finding, reading and interpreting all appropriate documents, as well as interviewing subject matter experts to derive content, instructional design or communication objectives.
- Write scripts for multimedia projects in the media appropriate format.
- Produce and direct media programs including video, audio, web-based interactive eLearning modules, podcasts, and others.
- Set team operating budget and ensure operation within that budget. Make recommendations for annual capital purchases to ensure that Scouting America has access to the needed technology to support projects.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of: Multimedia principles and best practices; variety of multimedia software and hardware, such as Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Final Cut Pro; web development and design principles; project management principles and methodologies; current trends in multimedia technology.
- Skill in: Video editing, graphic design, and animation; creative thinking, storytelling, and scriptwriting; organization and time management; multimedia project planning and execution; critical analysis and problem-solving.
- Ability to: Lead and motivate a team of multimedia professionals; meet deadlines and stay on budget; adapt to changing priorities and markets; maintain professionalism and effectiveness under pressure.
- Requires seven (7) years of experience in multimedia production techniques, time frames, budgets, and processes (includes development, pre-production, production, postproduction, distribution) and scriptwriting for a variety of applications; including interactive eLearning modules, traditional video, and audio programs.
- Requires three years of experience with meeting presentation expertise and providing supervision/leadership to multimedia production teams.
- Proven to possess exceptional skills in working with creative people in high pressure situations.
- Must pass a criminal history background check.
Any work-related experience resulting in acceptable proficiency levels in the above Minimum Qualifications is an acceptable substitute for the above-specified education and experience requirements.
