We’re looking for a versatile Multimedia Graphic Designer who can confidently create compelling visual content across digital, print, video, social, web, and email. This role requires strong visual instincts, technical execution, and the ability to translate brand standards into compelling, on-message creative across multiple formats.

The ideal candidate is a creative, detail-oriented designer who can translate strategy and messaging into polished visual assets. This person should be comfortable working across multiple formats, managing deadlines, and collaborating with the ESA Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and produce digital graphics for web, email, social media, and paid campaigns – including static graphics and animated gif and mp4 files
  • Create and edit video content for social platforms, websites, and presentations
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content with raw capture files, enhancing color, stability, and audio where applicable
  • Enhance video content with branded motion elements, like titles, captions, transitions, lower thirds, intro/outro
  • Export videos optimized for different platforms
  • Edit and retouch photography to meet brand and campaign standards
  • Color-correct and crop images for consistency and impact
  • Design print collateral including brochures, signage, ads, flyers, and event materials
  • Prepare files with proper bleeds, trims, color modes, and export settings
  • Maintain organized working files and final exports for collaborative projects
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Take initiative to ask questions, seek feedback, and communicate concerns early to ensure alignment, maintain project momentum, and support successful outcomes. Communicate project progress and potential obstacles consistently and proactively.
  • Independently track project progress and communicate updated completion timelines and potential obstacles with marketing team and manager consistently
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and platform updates
  • Suggest improvements to workflows or creative systems
  • Ensure consistency with brand guidelines while bringing creative ideas to the table
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Translate creative briefs into polished visual assets, applying brand standards and exporting optimized production-ready files
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interact with, aptly inform, and maintain appropriate relations with fellow staff, ESA contractors, customers, members, volunteers, and vendors as well as professional and service groups and government entities
  • Maintain a perpetually current understanding of Association business, goals, values, direction, events and activities through on-going review of website and assimilation of information provided through Association publications, email newsletters, etc.
  • Assist fellow staff as needed when preparing to attend trade shows, events, or when meeting a deadline
  • Travel to annual staff meeting
  • Perform other duties as assigned
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Supervision received from the Art Director. Works independently with minimal supervision. External contacts include ESA volunteers and members, state industry leaders, vendors, the general public, and instructors as well as state and federal regulatory personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years of experience in graphic design, multimedia design, marketing design or similarly creative role
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience with digital, print, social, video, and web design.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and After Effects)
  • Proven experience editing both photos and video
  • Solid understanding of layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy
  • Experience creating assets for social media, web, and print
  • Strong attention to detail and file organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with varying deadlines; ability to work independently as a self-starter, prioritize and multi-task
  • Experience with HTML, CSS — and specifically Mailchimp and Word Press a plus
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree preferred. Agency Experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF POSITION/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily sedentary in nature; no special demands are required. Extended periods of public involvement may be necessary when participating in trade shows or ESA events. Must be mobile enough to move from one location to another as needed, and to interact and communicate with attendees, as well as lift and move booth collateral and accessories. Work is performed in an office setting with the exception of trade shows/local events, ESA events, and prospective member office visits.

Annual travel is required.
