PE Teacher/Coach
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Physical Education (PE) Teacher/Coach to inspire students to develop a lifelong love for movement, health, wellness, and Islamic values. The ideal candidate will foster students' intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual growth through engaging and inclusive instruction. This role requires creativity, strong classroom management, and a commitment to supporting diverse learners across various age groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and promote a love for Islam and Islamic values within students.
- Develop and implement comprehensive PE curricula and engaging lesson plans aligned with school guidelines and student needs.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Adapt instructional strategies and activities to accommodate students of varying abilities, including those with special needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, media, and learning technologies to enhance student engagement and maximize instructional time.
- Establish effective classroom management procedures using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution techniques.
- Assess and evaluate student progress regularly, including fitness testing, and maintain accurate records of achievement and participation.
- Communicate student progress with parents and provide counseling support as needed before and after school.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular concepts such as literacy, math, and health into physical education activities.
- Identify student needs and work with staff to address academic, behavioral, health, or social challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and student records in compliance with school policies.
- Participate in school activities, adhere to organizational procedures, and support the school's mission and objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
Education/Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certification in Physical Education (preferred).
- Additional certifications in special education or early childhood development (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum development and instructional strategies.
- Ability to design inclusive and engaging lesson plans for diverse learners.
- Proficiency in classroom management, behavior management, and instructional technology (e.g., LMS).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- At least 1 year of student teaching, internship, or related experience.
- Experience working with children across various age groups, including elementary levels.
