PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
Assist the classroom teacher in providing for the physical and instructional needs of students, including implementation of classroom programs such as self‑help, behavior management, and instruction. Work under general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.
- Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work well with children
- Proficient communication skills
- Proficiency with basic computer applications
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings
Computer peripherals, copier, facsimile
Working ConditionsMaintain emotional control under stress; frequent movement from one classroom to another; frequent standing, stooping, bending; may be required to lift up to 30 pounds without assistance.
Safety:
Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and district policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidents immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
