Instructional Coordinator Core Curriculum

Job Title: Instructional Coordinator Core Curriculum Areas PK‑12
Length of Work Year: 220 days
Reports To: Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction
Pay Grade: Admin4 (in accordance with Board approved salary schedule)
Department: Curriculum and Instruction
Primary
Purpose:
To provide instructional support to improve all aspects of the curriculum (development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction).
Position is eligible for a Chapter 21 contract.
QualificationsMinimum Education:
- Master’s Degree required
- Valid Texas teaching certificate in content area
- ESL Supplement required
- GT Endorsement preferred
- Bilingual preferred
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
- Specific knowledge of assigned content area
- General knowledge of all elementary and secondary curriculum areas
- Knowledge in the selection, training, and supervision of personnel
- Ability to plan and conduct staff development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds
- Knowledge of State and district content standards and district school improvement initiatives, including content standards, effective instruction, and assessment practices
- Skills in collaboration, curriculum development, and the use of data to improve student success
Minimum Experience: At least three (3) years of teaching experience in curriculum area; secondary and elementary experience preferred.
Major Responsibilities and DutiesPhysical/Mental Demands: Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem‑solving skills while under stress. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written). Ability to coordinate district functions. Must interpret policy, procedures and data. Frequent lifting and carrying of moderate weight materials. Frequent in‑district and occasional in‑state or national travel. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.
