Primary
Purpose:
Collaborates with businesses, transition specialist and teachers to assist students with employability skills by providing on-the-job training and developing employment skills to students working in the community. Responsible for maintaining student records on job performance and analyzing job duties.
Qualifications:Minimum Education:
Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate High School Diploma or GED
A valid Texas Driver License and reliable transportation
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work well with students
- Ability to use/learn basic computer applications
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with business personnel, teachers, district staff, and students both orally and written
- Ability to collaborate in the best interest of students
- Ability to develop employment skills for students with various disabilities
- Minimum 2 years experience as an instructional paraprofessional - Preferred

Physical/Mental Demands:
Maintain professionalism with all staff members. Adequate upper body strength needed as moderate lifting involved. Correctable visual acuity, auditory acuity, speech, and fine motor dexterity required. Should be able to navigate school building and businesses frequently and independently. Ability to concentrate, maintain control of emotions under stress.
Safety:
Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner. Observe all safety precautions. Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy, practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training, wearing personal protective equipment as required, reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor, and being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety.
